Disaster has struck at HQ

Post by pertheswede »

As you may have seen I have my collection of bikes and fizzys neatly lined up in my showroom. After working on bleeding the front brake on my RD250DX I have just sold yesterday I left it on its side stand with some cardboard underneath just to level the bike a bit as the master cylinder was full of brake fluid minus the cap. The reason being I was told by a person in the know to leave it overnight with the brake lever cable tied tight to the throttle grip and let the fluid run through to test for clear passage or blockage :?

A ghost obviously visited overnight as when I came in to inspect my handy work this afternoon the RD had fallen over onto my concourse Baja Brown Fizzy which in turn had fallen onto my concourse Candy Orange SS much like dominoes :o  :?

Damage report as follows:-

RD250 - broken RH front indicator (snapped off at stem), bent fork ear, ding in brand new NOS front mudguard, whole front end covered in brake fluid.
Baja Speedblock Fizzy - Dented, bent and scratched rear chain guard, scratched and chipped swingarm, scratched pedal crankcase cover, rear end covered in brake fluid.
Candy Orange SS - no visible damage as far as I can see (but I will double check it tomorrow)
Showroom Floor - Covered in Brake Fluid as far as the eye can see.

As you can imagine I am very pi$$ed off to say the least as I was due to deliver the RD to my customer tomorrow for starters and I am taking the BAJA to Stoneleigh Show in a few weeks!!

TC - I need a rear chainguard and LH pedal crankcase cover painting urgently pretty please ;)

Hi Per,
If it helps, i've got most parts of a Baja Brown FS1-E in bits apart from the frame sitting in the shed.
P M me if you need anything, all parts are straight and usable, but will need painting/chroming if they are going on a mint bike.
