How is an fs1 engine restricted ?

Post by Candygold16 »

Any information on the restriction of an fs1 engine would be very helpful !

Is it the exhaust ?
The bore ?
The jet or other component in the carb ?
The sprockets ??
And if it is the carb components where can i get upgrades to fit the mikuni carb ??

Thanks

Fs1(non pedal)
The down pipe is 28mm instead of 32mm,the two peice standard exhaust has a small diameter tube running through it.
The gearing is 13/39 instead of 14/39
The carb is not restricted and the Main jet is the same size
The port timing slighltly milder, how ever i have tried both barrells back to back and the difference isnt worth worrying about.
You fit a one peice pattern pipe and a 14 front sprocket and it gives round 45mph,

Thats where the oil comes in from the autolube pump  you only get air coming in when your oil runs out

Nope thats not a restriction, thats where the oil pump feed pipe connects on the autolube bikes. It must be blocked off if using pre-mix

Yes, 14 front 39 rear on pedal models, restricted 13 front 39 rear.Same ratios inside the gearbox on both models.Bear in mind though the engines probably ben messed with anyway, most are.
