What's this?

Post by tonyf »

All
As part of the 394 rebuild, I've been given some forks, front mudguard, disc assembly etc that I'm not too sure about...
The disc brake is on the right but at the back of the leg not the front and the disc brake unit looks a bit beefier that the traditional. The mudguard is also very different..

Is this off a later model as I couldn't see any reference to it or a completely different bike?

Cheers
Tony

Make sure you dont get the 17" version Pete or it wont clear your mags or have the right side profile

Looks like I've nailed what the forks are - Pete was dead on. Its also taken me the best part of 6 hours to strip them down, remove layers of paint with Nitromors, polish them and remove the frigging fork seals...

It's the FS1DX (P108 of the How to Restore guide) - unfortunately, standard fork seals don't fit so a bit a faux-pas and have just ordered hopefully the right ones...

Its getting emotional! :)
