The identifiers (second two letters) on DVLA Number Plates are letters used to pinpoint where a vehicle has been registered in Great Britain. Hi mate, this system is only correct from 2001 onwards, totally different from when all fizzy,s were registered and had suffix letter to show the year and 3 prefix letters to show the local DVLA area office that issued them. I have a glasses guide that covers the early type area offices and the letters they used, it even tell,s you the month the letters were used.
