Pictures would help. Does it have cantilever forks or stations? Single seat and what colour?
They aren’t worth as much as the fizzy, yet they are rare. They were the first 50cc geared, with proper cable clutch, motor cycle that Yamaha released.
The first batch, introduced in the UK, were imports in 64, then released officially in 65.
Is it yours, or are you thinking of buying it?

A worthy investment, and so fun to ride. 8-)
A little yam, which I guarantee will turn a few heads. I often went down the Hoe, when I lived in Plymouth, to grab myself a cuppa at Captain Jaspers. The mighty YF1 always attracted interest from sight seers, the big boy bikers and the moody Harley weekend riders. :)
A fizzy in the making; and with Autolube in 65. Yamaha kept costs down with the SS 50. No Autolube for you laddy.

A wise choice for now. 8-)
Will photocopy my YF1 manual shortly, if I can find it in 30+ boxes, after the house move, then send it up to you.
Until then, have fun will the semi-restoration.

Yup, sounds standard to me.
small end bearing, head and basket gasket are exactly the same as a fizzy. 8-)
Never had my head of so don't know about rings and piston. Try ebay- a few American dealers; they have YF1 parts.

Will pop into the garage today and send you points gap, and spark plug grade.

Oh, a YG1 side casing will fit, although it will be metal and slightly plumber and rounded
