billing charity bike

Postby marky » Sun Sep 05, 2010 7:38 pm

hi, dont really know what to say at all but here goes having been the lucky winner of the charity bike, i would like to give a heartfelt thank you to everybody who supported the raffle by purchasing a ticket to promoting it, donating parts or whatever but again a heartfelt thank you to everybody involved in any way at all , from the concept of this idea by tony and much support from per in getting the bike promoted, daveh for all the help dt50 alan for the help at donnington lionel for his fantastic efforts at stafford, the vjmc stand for letting the bike be promoted on their stand again at stafford, . everybody involved at all the other venues it has been taken to jakey for logistics etc russ and margaret from fizzy-galore and everybody on this site and further afield. i can remember many names but not all so this is yet again a BIG thank you to everybody and the three charities will benefit immensley from your support, NEXT as for what to do with the bike i dont yet know other than it will be either used to further promote the charities in question or even different ones or be sold and the money donated to worthy causes , the bike is beautiful and has already won a prize at the bristol classic show, i now need to give it a week or two to get my head around winning it but one thing i do know is that i will not be keeping it for myself it was built and raffled for charity so it is my intention to get my thoughts together and then decide where the proceeds will go from the sale of it
I WOULD VERY MUCH WELCOME THE VIEWS AND OPINIONS OF OTHERS AS TO HOW THIS COULD BE DONE SO PLEASE IF ANYBODY HAS ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS all i can say once again is a very big thank you to everybody involved especially mandy rose and pers wife whose name escapes me for also doing a marvellous job selling and organising ticket sales and also to my wife jan who was more than happy to allow me the time to take the bike around to different places to promote it thank you

I think you should get in touch with Bonahams or a similar auctioneer and see if they will sell on behalf of the club taking no commission :D
I am now on the fizz and by god it feels good : D

Per contacted Bonhams they wanted rather a large % so if the bike had made £3k which I feel its worth all of that and more they would take £450.00.

Offers for £3k are coming in but the guy that asked first obviously has first refusal and so on.
