No plate

I have a fizzy under restoration but no log book l have the no plate which was on the bike, the engine and frame no matches and also have a tax disc from 1978 but can't read the reg the ink has faded away what's the routine to get it registered cheers Mark

Have the checked the number plate on the DVLA site to see if its current and matches the bike?
