Restoration Resolution

Postby rustyrim » Fri Jan 06, 2012 6:50 pm

It's quiet on here, so here goes...
What’s your ‘restoration resolution’ for 2012?
Image
Mines to finish of this Frankenstein bike :o : 394 frame; FS1 forks, 596 engine casings found in a box at a bike jumble; other bits sourced from: ebay, breakers, and my own parts.
Not fussed it’s a Frankenstein fizzy, born from various boxes, its another fizz about to be saved from the grave, soon to be ‘alive’ and ridden on the road. ;)
Finally, a special thanks to: tikkat3 who helped me out with some ‘gold-dust’ parts, and Per with vital engine parts and Dating certificate. That’s what this club is about, although we are a quiet bunch, making restoration possible and helping members out.
May the fizz be with you... Good luck with those restorations. 8-)

‘It’s alive!’ Restoration Resolution completed.
Fizzy Frankenstein was given life today after it was infused with a fresh MOT.
It all started with a set of greasy 596 engine cases from Shepton Mallet show last year.
This creation has been born from the sum of about 14 other fizzies and even a YG1.
There to be ridden...

(Allspeed- here’s the muddy, although being a total plonker, I’ve fitted it the wrong way round! ).  :o :?

At last, after the local DVLA office being really awkward with issuing me an age related plate, I’m now legally on the road. 8-)

Yes the Frankenstein fizz is running in well. I’ve had some mild tuning done on the head and barrel, and the engine is pulling well through the gears. The engine is tight, although it’s beginning to loosen up. So for now, I’ll be taking it easy before I thrash its guts out.
So Restoration Resolution complete.
Time to ride and let this thread fall down the forum’s menu, never to be read again.
