First of all i must congatulate Per and all the team in acheving over 300 members to the owners club in such a short period of time, a moped that went out of production 20 years ago, and to bring a fan base so large together is a remarkable acheivement. Having looked through the forum i see that the last local run out was back in August, although large publishised events have taken place since then. My idea is (please feel free to shoot me down in flames ect!!!) is to have the main movers and shakers apoint or ask for volunters to become RO (regional organisers) North west, North east, Midlands, South west, East Anglia ect, to organise regional ride outs, meetings ect under the umbrella of the owners club. All members would automatically be invited to all events ect, but such a sub group would i beleive bring menbers of the owners club closer together and form a tighter knit comunity.
I live in Cambridge and have no idea of who owns or has a passion for Fizzy's in my area. If each RO was given the details of each new or existing member to their region, a note of welcome could be sent with detail of all up and coming events and meetings, locally and nationally.
If people are willing to pay to join a club they must be enthused by what the club has to offer, get the membership involved regionally and make them part of the comunity through regional events, i have been a member for little over a year and have a bike half completed, i needed some encouragement (Kick up the arse!!) to get my build completed, i think locally a phone call or e-mail would have got me going (we can all be a bit lethargic at times) and get the bike out on the road with like minded friends.
Its only a bit of an idea, but with over 300 members groups could be quite large and i rearly think this could work.
What do you think?
