did you take the bike over the kirkstone pass or even the wynross or hardknot pass while you were in the area ??
Our family has lived around this area since the early seventies so I have ridden all of the passess over the years on many different bikes
The roads can be quite bumpy and i have snapped the torque arm bolt coming down Honister pass a couple of years ago and you have to be carefull not to over rev the engine on some of the decents
It is great doing it on the fizzy as you always get a toot and a wave from men of a certain age
I stopped at the viewing spot on the back of Derwent Water last week and a cyclist went by, did a double take then turned around and came back for a look
It was the same old story that we have all heard many times about how this was the bike he had or always wanted when he was sixteen
I love it there and hope to retire there, very soon
