have i bought a fizzy or a very early yb100, its listed on the dvla as a 100cc, the engine that comes in one of the boxes looks to be a yb100.
the tinware is all fizzy 50 as far as i can see, the wheels, disc brake and speedo drive are all rd50m.

its a bit of a mystery box of bits, any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

if she is a fizzy i was going to restore her to original stanard fare but i thought any sixteener special thats been this well molested deserves better, so im going to have the wheels completely restored by a local firm who specialise in alloy refurbs, 8 or 10 coats of 2k yellow paint and 5 coats of clear, then some replica decals fresh from my vinyl plotter.

the engine is still questionable as i say its a 100cc engine looks like yb100 engine no is 200 002266

I think 2GO-200------ makes it a 1978 FS1M. That certainly fits with the number plate and the 2nd photo, although as you say the forks and wheels are from an RD50M.

Regarding the engine, the yamaha model code 200 is listed on the aircooled RD website list as a YG1KS from 1967. That's probably a 73cc motor from a Yamaha 80. Have you possibly misread the number? engine code 2U0 would be Yb100 as would L2.

The engine from a YB100 fits almost straight in. It does need one of the welded washers on the frame grinding a little as one of the YB engine mounts is wider. Either that or a bit has to be ground from the engine. I'm not sure about the 80 engine, but I've seen them fitted.

The front of the 18" rear wheel will be very close to the swing arm cross brace. I've seen three mods to improve this. YB100 swinging arm, V50/70 swinging arm (both of which are a little longer) or modify the cross brace by cutting and welding. V50/V70 or YB100 swinging arms both fit straight in. The YB100 also needs YB100 shocks, but the V50/V70 can use FS1E shocks.

As you've noticed this site is very quiet, I look in every couple of weeks, but you will get more, quicker and probably more knowledgeable answers on the FS1E owners club facebook page. I prefer forums because the info is categorised and convenient to use as reference, but facebook is quick and easy especially on a phone.

Of course your absolutely right, I did a pencil rubbing of the frame no and it is a 2u0 200.

Happy days its a fizzy, and all that little lot cost me 300 quid.
I'm afraid I don't do Facebook at all so I'll have a chat with my daughter or son to get them onto the fizzy page.

My next quest will now be an engine, drop a fizzy 50cc back in and register it back as a 50.
I'm still going to keep the wheels etc and rebuild the cut up exhaust and make it a super sixteenth special.
I was very disappointed witht the forum, I'm a member of the royal enfield owners club and that's very active, as I have a pre 65 scrambler and an Indian 500.
